Harmony Activity Awareness
Under DiscussionMap button layouts dynamically based on the current Harmony activity. Users want TV card button mappings to change automatically when switching between activities like "Watch TV," "Watch Movie," or "Play Game."
button.* Entity Support
Not Yet Supported
Direct global mapping for Home Assistant button.* entities.
Currently, users cannot bind physical buttons to button entities without
using workarounds like scripts or scenes.
Media Progress Bar
Needs BreakthroughThe progress bar was removed because Home Assistant API only provides discrete data points, not real-time updates. Users want a solution that shows accurate playback progress without excessive API polling.
ADB Control Latency
InvestigatingADB (Android Debug Bridge) control is significantly slower than native Android TV integration, especially for long-press actions. Users report noticeable lag when holding down buttons for volume or navigation.

Harmony HUB — Shield TV Misidentification
Fixed v1.3.0
Android TV (Shield TV) was incorrectly detected as a Harmony HUB due to
the current_activity: Plex attribute. This caused the TV card
to become unavailable for affected users.
V1.0.36 Binding Invalidation
Fixed
Internal ID system changed from entity_id to card_id,
causing all existing card bindings to break. Users had to re-save all cards
after the update.

Based on community feedback and team priorities, here's what's being planned for future Astrion Remote updates. Items are subject to change based on technical feasibility and user feedback.
Music Assistant Support
Native integration with Music Assistant — planned to start development around July 20, 2026. Users will be able to control music playback directly from Astrion.
Harmony Activity Awareness
Dynamic button mapping based on Harmony activities. Currently under active discussion with the community to define the optimal implementation.
button.* Entity Support
Direct global mapping for button entities without script workarounds. Under technical review.
Media Progress Bar & ADB Optimization
Technical solutions being explored for both issues. Progress bar requires API improvements; ADB latency may require architectural changes.
