Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about UltraBARX — hardware, software, modules, and more.

🖥️ Hardware & Setup
What is UltraBARX?

UltraBARX is a modular desktop command center. It combines a 7-inch touchscreen display (CoreBAR) with magnetic modules (KnobKey, DotKey, SenseCube, VivoCube) that snap together via QuantumLink™. It runs LineOS™ and can be configured with UltraWorkspace.

What's in the box?
  • CoreBAR — the 7-inch touchscreen main controller
  • QuantumLink™ modules — KnobKey, DotKey, SenseCube, VivoCube (depending on your kit)
  • USB-C cable and power adapter
  • Quick start card
How do I connect the modules?

Modules snap onto CoreBAR via the magnetic QuantumLink™ connection on the right side. They attach automatically — no cables, no pairing. Power and data flow through the magnetic connection.

📌 See Step 1 in Getting Started →

How do I power on CoreBAR?
  • Assemble the adapter and plug head — align, press firmly, and rotate toward "LOCK" until you hear a click
  • Insert the round end of the adapter into CoreBAR's DC 12V power port on the left side
  • Plug the other end into a power strip — CoreBAR will power on automatically
  • Wait about 20 seconds for the boot animation to complete

What is QuantumLink™?

QuantumLink™ is UltraBARX's magnetic connection system. It carries power and data between CoreBAR and modules — no cables, no pairing, no restarts. Modules snap into place and are recognized instantly. Up to 15 modules can be attached to a single CoreBAR.

How do I download and install UltraWorkspace?
  • Go to GitHub Releases
  • Download the latest version for Windows 10/11
  • Run the installer and follow the setup wizard
  • Launch UltraWorkspace and connect your CoreBAR

📌 Download UltraWorkspace →

Why can't UltraWorkspace find my CoreBAR?
  • Make sure CoreBAR is powered on
  • Ensure both CoreBAR and your PC are on the same Wi-Fi network
  • Check that 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is enabled
  • Try restarting UltraWorkspace
  • If still not found, check CoreBAR's IP address in Settings → About

📌 Network troubleshooting →

What is a Profile?

A Profile is a complete workspace configuration — it defines what appears on your CoreBAR screen: cards, layouts, module mappings, and themes. Switch between Profiles to instantly transform your workspace for different activities.

How many modules can I attach?

You can attach up to 15 general-purpose modules (DotKey, KnobKey, SenseCube) and up to 3 VivoCube display modules to a single CoreBAR.

Why isn't my module being recognized?
  • Check that the module is properly snapped onto CoreBAR
  • Make sure CoreBAR is powered on
  • Try detaching and reattaching the module
  • In UltraWorkspace, click Search in the module section
  • Check if the module requires a firmware update

📡 Firmware
How do I update firmware?
  • CoreBAR: Firmware updates are delivered over the air (OTA). Your CoreBAR will notify you when an update is available.
  • Modules (SenseCube, VivoCube, DotKey, KnobKey): Updates are performed manually through UltraWorkspace. Download the .bin file from GitHub Releases and follow the OTA procedure.

📌 Firmware downloads →

What's the difference between CoreBAR OTA and module manual updates?

CoreBAR updates are delivered automatically over Wi-Fi — you'll see a notification on your screen. Modules require manual updates via UltraWorkspace because each module has its own firmware. The manual process gives you more control and is only needed when new features or fixes are released for specific modules.

Where do I download firmware files?

Firmware files are available on GitHub Releases. Download the .bin file for your module (e.g., VivoCube_V2_20260728_ota.bin) and follow the OTA procedure in UltraWorkspace.

🛠️ Troubleshooting
My UltraBARX won't power on. What should I do?
  • Check that the power adapter is properly connected to CoreBAR's DC 12V port
  • Make sure the adapter is plugged into a working power outlet
  • Try using a different USB-C cable (if using USB power)
  • If still not working, try a factory reset

📌 Power troubleshooting →

How do I factory reset CoreBAR?

Go to Settings → About → Factory Reset on your CoreBAR. This will restore the device to its original state. Make sure to back up any custom configurations in UltraWorkspace before resetting.

📌 Factory reset guide →
