I found the root cause… if you don't enter a device name on the TV Card it doesn't show the device in Astrion HA when you are on that card as a device.
Discussed in: Latest Astrion Firmware & RosCard Updates — Topic #40
Problem
You've set up a navigation action in Home Assistant (for example, via the Sanytron Integration or an automation) to open a specific TV Card on your Astrion Remote. But when the action triggers, nothing happens — the remote doesn't navigate to the card.
Alternatively, you might be using a voice assistant or a script to open a TV Card, and it simply doesn't respond.
Cause
The root cause is almost always the same: the TV Card's Device Name field is empty.
When you configure a TV Card in RosCard, the Device Name field serves as a unique identifier that Astrion Remote uses to locate and open the correct card when it receives a navigation action. If this field is left blank, the remote cannot identify which card to open, and the navigation action fails silently.
The Device Name is used by the Sanytron Integration to route navigation actions to the correct view on the remote. Without a name, the remote receives the navigation command but has no way to know which card it refers to.
Solution
The fix is straightforward:
Open TV Card Configuration in Home Assistant
Navigate to your Home Assistant dashboard and open the TV Card configuration.
Enter a Device Name
Find the Device Name field and enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Living Room TV" or "Theater"). This name doesn't need to match anything else — it just needs to be unique and identifiable.
Refresh Your Astrion Remote
Pull down from the top of the screen and tap Refresh to sync the updated configuration.
Test Navigation Action
Trigger your navigation action again. The TV Card should now open as expected.
Recommendation
We recommend always filling in the Device Name field when creating a TV Card, even if you don't intend to display it on the interface. Even a short identifier is sufficient to enable navigation actions.
If you prefer to hide the name on the screen, you can use RosCard v1.4.2 or newer, which provides official Hide Name and Hide Icon options. See the Device Name Hiding guide for more details.
Version Information
- RosCard v1.4.1 and earlier — Device Name is required for navigation to work; hiding via blank spaces may break functionality
- RosCard v1.4.2 (pre-release) — Adds official Hide Name and Hide Icon options, allowing cleaner interfaces without sacrificing navigation
- RosCard v1.4.2 (official) — Expected to be released in mid-August 2026
Still Having Issues?
If you've filled in the Device Name and navigation still doesn't work, try:
- Restart your Astrion Remote — Settings → System → Restart
- Check the Device Name — Ensure it doesn't contain special characters that might interfere
- Verify the card exists — Ensure the card is correctly configured and appears on your remote
- Check the navigation action — Verify that the action references the correct Device Name
