This procedure must be performed after flashing firmware. After a full firmware flash, the Device ID (Serial Number), Wi-Fi MAC, and Bluetooth MAC are erased. These must be restored using SN Writer. Proceed at your own risk.
The Device ID (Serial Number) follows the production rule: 0127A + Production Date + Production Batch + Operator ID. This allows Sanytron to trace the manufacturing batch and service history of each device.
Prerequisites
Before beginning, ensure you have:
- Your Device ID, Wi-Fi MAC, and Bluetooth MAC — Recorded from the Backup Device Identity step
- Windows PC — Windows 7 or later
- USB Type-C Data Cable — A cable that supports data transfer
- SN Writer Tool — Downloaded from the link below
- MTK USB Driver — Already installed from the Flash Firmware guide
- Astrion Remote — Firmware already flashed, powered off

Step 1: Configure SN Writer
Some configuration items only need to be completed once after installing SN Writer. As long as SN Writer is not reinstalled, these settings do not need to be configured again.
1.1 System Configuration
Launch SN Writer
Extract and launch the SN Writer tool. The main interface will appear.
Configure Basic Settings
In the main interface, configure the following:
- ComPort: USB VCOM
- Target Type: Smart Phone
System Configuration
Click System Config to open the configuration window. Enable all three options under Write Option:
- Barcode (Serial Number / Device ID)
- BT Address
- Wi-Fi Address
Under Database File, enable Load AP DB from DUT.
Select the following database files from the SN Writer installation directory:
- MD1_DB: BPLGU_MT6580_S01_FILE
- AP_DB: APDB_MT6580_S01_FILE
Click Save.
1.2 MAC Address Configuration
Enable Auto Generation
From the menu bar, select: Identify → Enable AutoGen.
Configure MAC Address Ranges
Configure the automatic MAC address generation as follows:
Bluetooth Address:
- Start: BCEE00000000
- End: BCEEFFFFFFFF
- Step: 1
- Next: Provided by Sanytron for each device
Wi-Fi Address:
- Start: ACFF00000000
- End: ACFFFFFFFFFF
- Step: 1
- Next: Provided by Sanytron for each device
Note: The Start, End, and Step values are fixed and should not be modified. Only the Next value changes for each device.
Click OK.
Step 2: Program Serial Number
Power Off the Device
Ensure the Astrion Remote is completely powered off. The firmware must already have been flashed successfully.
Click Start in SN Writer
In SN Writer, click the Start button. A dialog window will appear.
Enter Your Device Information
Fill in the following information:
- Barcode (Device ID): Enter your device's serial number
- BT Addr: Automatically generated — do not modify
- Wi-Fi Addr: Automatically generated — do not modify
Important: Every device must use a unique serial number. Do not include any leading or trailing spaces.
Click OK. SN Writer will enter waiting mode.
Connect the Device
Connect the powered-off Astrion Remote to your PC using the USB-C data cable. Under normal conditions:
- The device will display the boot logo
- The programming progress bar at the bottom of SN Writer will begin progressing
When programming is complete, a green PASS indicator will appear. This indicates the serial number has been successfully programmed.
Disconnect and Verify
Disconnect the USB cable. Power on the device and verify that the Device ID, Wi-Fi MAC, and Bluetooth MAC are correctly restored.
The device must remain powered off before connecting to the PC. If the progress bar does not move, ensure the MTK USB driver is properly installed and the device is powered off.
Troubleshooting
Computer cannot detect the remote control
- The USB cable may only support charging. Replace it with a USB Type-C data cable
- The MTK USB drivers may not be installed. Refer to the Flash Firmware guide
Progress bar does not move after connecting
- Verify all settings in System Configuration are correct
- Ensure the device is completely powered off
- Restart SN Writer and try again
Device ID not persisting after reboot
- Verify that you programmed all three values: Barcode, BT Address, and Wi-Fi Address
- Ensure SN Writer completed successfully with a green PASS indicator
- Try the programming process again in the order described in the guide
