"The automation trigger is a game-changer. Now when I switch to my 'Movie' dashboard, it automatically dims the lights and starts the projector. This is the smart home integration I've been waiting for."

Automation Actions: A New Paradigm

With V1.3.0, Astrion remote now supports dashboard navigation as automation triggers. This means:

  • Switching to your "Movie" dashboard can automatically dim the lights, lower the blinds, and turn on the projector
  • Navigating to the "Music" dashboard can launch your media player and set the volume
  • Swipe gestures and page changes can now trigger Home Assistant scenes

This blurs the line between a remote control and a smart home controller — every interaction with the Astrion interface can now be part of a larger automation.

Android TV: Reliable Power Control

V1.3.0 introduces a smarter approach to Android TV power management. Many Android TV devices have inconsistent power behavior — some require a single command, others require alternating commands. V1.3.0 now supports:

  • Single-command mode — For devices with reliable toggle
  • Auto-toggle mode — Alternates between "on" and "off" commands for devices that need it

This was driven by community feedback, particularly around Shield TV devices where power behavior varied by model.

Smart Remote Entity Detection

V1.3.0 improves the pairing experience with smart entity detection. When adding a new remote, Astrion now intelligently detects available entities and suggests the most relevant ones, reducing setup time and complexity.

Full English Localization

With V1.3.0, Astrion now has complete English localization with improved terminology and consistency. This ensures a native experience for English-speaking users and sets the foundation for future language support.

Fix Included

V1.3.0 also fixes the Harmony HUB Shield TV misidentification issue where Android TV devices were incorrectly detected as Harmony HUB due to the current_activity: Plex attribute.
