Dear CoreBar Customers and Backers,

We have identified a potential safety risk if the PC-LINK port on CoreBar is connected to a fast-charging power adapter. Please read and follow the instructions below before connecting or continuing to use your device.

🔴 The most important instruction: Use a fast charger with the USB-OTG port only. Never connect a fast charger to the PC-LINK port.

The Two Ports Have Different Power Requirements

✅ USB-OTG
Use this port when powering CoreBar with a compatible fast charger.
⛔ PC-LINK
Connect only to a computer USB port or a standard fixed-output 5V DC power adapter.
Port Correct Connection
USB-OTG Use this port when powering CoreBar with a compatible fast charger (PD / QC supported).
PC-LINK Connect only to a computer USB port or a standard fixed-output 5V DC power adapter.

Before connecting an adapter to PC-LINK, check the output information printed on the adapter. Do not use the adapter with PC-LINK if it lists 9V, 12V, 15V, 20V, or any other fast-charging output. This includes USB Power Delivery (PD), Quick Charge (QC), and other fast-charging adapters.

Why This Matters

The PC-LINK circuit is designed for 5V input only. Applying a higher voltage may:

  • Permanently damage the PC-LINK port or the mainboard and prevent the device from powering on
  • Damage internal components or cause abnormal heat
  • In extreme cases, result in smoke or fire
  • Damage a connected computer or other peripheral device

⚠️ This type of physical damage is irreversible and cannot be repaired through a software update.

What You Should Do Now

  1. Check the printed port label before connecting power.
  2. Connect fast-charging power to USB-OTG only.
  3. Use PC-LINK only with a computer USB port or a standard fixed-output 5V DC adapter.
  4. Check the adapter label before use. If the adapter lists any output of 9V or higher, do not connect it to PC-LINK.
  5. Use the original accessories or certified accessories from a reputable manufacturer.

🔴 If you have already connected a fast charger to PC-LINK: Stop using the product and contact us before powering it on again. If your unit becomes unusually hot, emits an unusual smell, produces smoke, or behaves abnormally, disconnect power at the wall outlet if it is safe to do so and move away from the device.

Warranty Notice

Damage caused by connecting a fast-charging adapter to PC-LINK is considered damage resulting from incorrect use and is not covered by the free product warranty. Related repair, replacement, and consequential costs are the responsibility of the user, subject to applicable law.
