Getting your UltraBARX connected to the network

Can't connect to Wi-Fi? Network keeps dropping? Device shows offline? Follow these troubleshooting steps to get your UltraBARX back online.

Back to Troubleshooting

Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi

UltraBARX can't find or connect to your Wi-Fi network.

📶

Wi-Fi Network Not Found or Authentication Fails

Solved

Your UltraBARX cannot discover your Wi-Fi network, or authentication fails when you try to connect. The network may not appear in the list, or you may see "Authentication Error."

Solution

  • Check Wi-Fi compatibility: UltraBARX supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. 5GHz networks are not supported
  • Check signal strength: Move CoreBAR closer to your Wi-Fi router
  • Verify password: Double-check the network password — it's case-sensitive
  • Check router settings: Make sure your router is broadcasting the SSID (network name)
  • Restart your router: Sometimes routers need a restart to accept new devices
  • Restart CoreBAR: Power cycle CoreBAR and try again
  • Try a different network: If available, test with a mobile hotspot to isolate the issue
Note: UltraBARX requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. If your router broadcasts both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, ensure you're connecting to the 2.4GHz band. Some routers use different SSIDs for each band.

Network Keeps Disconnecting

Wi-Fi connection drops intermittently.

🔄

Wi-Fi Connection Drops Intermittently

Solved

Your UltraBARX connects to Wi-Fi but loses connection sporadically. The device may reconnect automatically or stay offline until manually reconnected.

Solution

  • Check signal strength: Move CoreBAR closer to your router
  • Reduce interference: Move CoreBAR away from other electronic devices (microwaves, cordless phones, etc.)
  • Update router firmware: Check for updates on your router's admin panel
  • Check for network congestion: Too many devices on the network can cause instability
  • Restart CoreBAR: Power cycle CoreBAR to reset the Wi-Fi connection
  • Restart your router: Sometimes routers need a restart to resolve connection instability
  • Assign a static IP: If your router supports it, assign a static IP to CoreBAR to prevent IP conflicts
Tip: If you're using a mesh Wi-Fi system, ensure CoreBAR is connected to the main node or a node with strong signal. CoreBAR may not be able to roam between mesh nodes.

Device Shows Offline

UltraBARX appears offline in your network or in Ultra Workspace.

⚠️

UltraBARX Shows as Offline

Solved

Your UltraBARX appears offline in the network device list or in Ultra Workspace, even though the device is powered on and the screen is responsive.

Solution

  • Check Wi-Fi connection: Go to Settings → Network on CoreBAR to confirm connection status
  • Verify IP address: Check the IP address assigned to CoreBAR in your router's DHCP client list
  • Check Ultra Workspace: Make sure your PC is on the same network as CoreBAR
  • Refresh the connection: In Ultra Workspace, click "Search" to rediscover CoreBAR
  • Restart CoreBAR: Power cycle CoreBAR to re-establish the network connection
  • Restart your router: Sometimes the router's ARP cache needs to be refreshed
  • Check firewall settings: Some firewalls may block Ultra Workspace from discovering CoreBAR
Note: If CoreBAR appears offline in Ultra Workspace but you can ping its IP address from your PC, the issue may be with the discovery protocol. Try entering the IP address manually in Ultra Workspace.
