Installation Guide

Two steps: hardware installation + software configuration.

1

Install the PCIe Module

Insert the wireless power-on module into your computer's PCIe slot.

  • Purchase the optional PC Boot Wireless Module (PCIe interface)
  • Power off your computer and disconnect the power cable
  • Open the case and insert the PCIe module into an available PCIe slot
  • If your module includes a power LED cable, connect it to the motherboard's PWR_LED header (optional)
  • Close the case and reconnect power
Tip: The PCIe module is plug-and-play — no additional drivers are needed. Ensure your power supply has sufficient capacity for the extra module.
2

Configure in Ultra Workspace

After hardware installation, complete the pairing process via software.

  • Make sure CoreBAR is powered on and connected to the same network
  • Open Ultra Workspace on your computer
  • Navigate to Settings → PC Boot
  • Click Search for Modules — Ultra Workspace will scan for available PCIe modules
  • When your module appears, click Pair and follow the on-screen instructions
  • Once paired, a "Power On" button will appear on CoreBAR
Note: CoreBAR and your computer must be on the same Wi-Fi or LAN network for pairing to succeed.
💡 After pairing, we recommend testing the power-on function once to confirm everything is working.
3

Test Power-On

Verify that everything is working as expected.

  • Shut down your computer (full shutdown, not sleep)
  • On CoreBAR, locate the "Power On" button (can be added to any Profile)
  • Tap the button — your computer should start up normally
  • If the computer doesn't start, check the pairing status and Wi-Fi connectivity
✅ Success: Your computer powers on and CoreBAR displays the "Powered On" status (for example, via the System Monitor widget).

Troubleshooting

Common issues and how to fix them.

Module not detected

Possible causes: PCIe slot not properly seated, insufficient power, or computer not powered on. Solution: Check the PCIe connection and confirm the computer is plugged in and powered on.

Power-on command not responding

Possible causes: CoreBAR too far from the computer, or network latency. Solution: Ensure CoreBAR and the computer are on the same local network with good signal strength.

Home Assistant not triggering

Possible causes: PC Boot entity not properly configured in HA. Solution: Check the PC Boot entity in the Home Assistant integrations page and verify your automations reference it correctly.

Pairing fails

Possible causes: CoreBAR and computer on different networks. Solution: Connect both CoreBAR and your computer to the same Wi-Fi or LAN, then retry pairing.
