Connect your smart home to your desk
UltraBARX integrates natively with Home Assistant via its API. Turn your CoreBar into a dedicated smart home dashboard. Use SenseCube presence detection and SceneShift™ AI to automate your workspace based on what you're doing.
What you can control
Home Assistant entities appear as cards on your CoreBar screen.
Lighting
Adjust brightness, color temperature, and color. Tap to toggle on/off. Rotate KnobKey for fine-grained control.
Climate
View and adjust temperature, humidity, and HVAC modes. Display ambient sensor data from SenseCube.
Scenes
One-tap activate "Away", "Focus", "Movie", or custom scenes. Bind scenes to DotKey for instant switching.
Presence Automation
SenseCube detects when you sit down — wake your PC, turn on lights, and activate your workspace.
How to configure
Connect UltraBARX to Home Assistant in a few simple steps.
Ensure prerequisites
Make sure you have:
- Home Assistant running and accessible on your network
- UltraBARX connected to the same Wi-Fi network as HA
- A Long-Lived Access Token from HA (created with an Administrator account)
Open Integrations in Ultra Workspace
Launch Ultra Workspace on your PC. Navigate to Settings → Integrations and select Home Assistant.
Enter your HA URL and Token
Enter your Home Assistant URL (e.g., http://homeassistant.local:8123) and paste your Long-Lived Access Token.
Click Connect. UltraBARX will discover all available entities.
Add entities to your workspace
From the discovered entities list, drag and drop any device — lights, switches, sensors, scenes — onto your CoreBar screen simulator.
Each entity becomes a card on your CoreBar. Tap to control, long-press for details.
Create automations with SenseCube
Combine SenseCube presence detection with Home Assistant scenes:
- On approach: SenseCube detects you → HA triggers "Work Mode" scene
- On leave: After timeout → HA triggers "Away" scene, locks PC
- Desk tap: Double-tap desk → HA toggles lights or mute
Common issues
Quick fixes for the most common connection problems.
"No Connection" — Token error
If you see a connection error, your token may be invalid or expired.
- Check that the account used to create the token has Administrator permissions
- Create a new Long-Lived Access Token in HA and re-enter it
- Make sure your HA URL is correct and accessible
